Introduction
The Cap Vault is a premium headwear brand built around the idea of collecting. Rather than treating caps as disposable fashion accessories, the identity reframes them as objects worth discovering, acquiring and keeping, borrowing the language of vaults, archives and locking mechanisms to build a world that feels precise, exclusive and collectible.
The challenge
Caps are one of the most crowded categories in fashion, and most brands compete with the same tools. Another cool-looking cap label would disappear on arrival.
What everyone competes on
- Logos
- Graphics
- Embroidery
- Trend-led drops
- Sports references
- Streetwear aesthetics
- Celebrity tie-ins
Not
How do we create a cool-looking cap brand?
But
How do we build a world that gives people a reason to see these caps differently?
The insight
People who care deeply about caps, sneakers and street culture behave like collectors. They don't just buy, they hunt, keep and build. And the brand's name already held that world.

- 007Build over time
“A vault doesn't hold ordinary objects. It holds things valuable enough to preserve.”
The strategy
Position The Cap Vault around the culture of collecting: caps as curated objects, shopping as discovery, the store as a vault.

Shopping
→ Discovery & acquisition
A store

Logo exploration
Four directions were taken to the client, each pulling a different thread of the vault idea, before one was refined into the final system.

What the final mark had to do
- 01Minimal, and reads as a cap, for higher recall
- 02Edgy, sharp, clean and crisp
- 03Sharp boxes that form a vault in negative space
- 04Modern luxury, versatile across the premium segment
The identity
Two marks carry the brand: a minimal cap-peak symbol and the TCV monogram, both set beside THE CAP VAULT in Akira Expanded. Clear rules keep them sharp at every size, down to an app icon.

Colour & type
A disciplined neutral palette, from Charcoal Black to Whisper Grey, keeps the brand stealthy and lets product and metal do the talking. Akira Expanded brings the edge; Space Grotesk keeps everything else precise.

Akira Expanded
Primary — the logo and headlines. Bold, sharp, modern luxury.
Space Grotesk
Secondary — minimal, clean and geometric, for every collateral and commercial.
Brand print & details
The brand print is built from line arrangements that resemble a locking mechanism, with dial rings borrowed from a vault door. From a distance it's texture; up close it's information.

The mark
A single, sharp peak. Read it as a cap, a roofline, a vault door ajar.

08 — Caps as objects
Photographed like design objects, not merchandise: controlled light, the interlocking pattern, the product at the centre.
